Fake banners

Some of the most successful banners incorporate some kind of fake elements in them, such as fake scroll bars, fake text links, fake selection boxes, fake text boxes, fake submit buttons etc. Such banners perform well because visitors are mistaken into thinking that they are clicking on a genuine page element, when in fact they are clicking on the banner.
